What’s Changing?
As of January 1, 2027, FiftyNorth will be “FiftyNorth at the Y,” and will legally become part of the Northfield Area Family YMCA.
Hooray!
The FiftyNorth programming you love will continue right here in the NCRC building, including clubs and groups.
We are re-vamping how membership looks in 2027— you can learn more about that here.
2027 CLUB & GROUP GUIDELINES
We are also updating club and group participation guidelines. Starting in 2027, if you want to participate in a club or group that FiftyNorth hosts, you’ll need to choose one of these options:
1) BE a Member
or
2) BELONG TO THE Social Club
OR
3) PAY A DROP IN FEE
Why are we making this change?
The answers are IMPORTANT:
We love our FiftyNorth clubs & groups
We want to grow our clubs and groups and invest in them
We want to improve safety in our facility
It costs us time and money to rent, maintain, and staff the FiftyNorth facility
It costs us time and money to administer clubs, manage money, and advertise activities
We need to track club and group participants and usage in order to secure funding and grants to pay for our operations
We have not yet derived any income from clubs & groups, even to cover basic costs, to help us host and run clubs and groups
We cannot afford to run or grow clubs or groups without your help
We are simplifying our operations, improving safety, tracking participation and helping support clubs and groups by including participation in your Membership or Social Club fee.
If FiftyNorth is hosting your club or group, we will not ask members to pay addtional club or group dues. Participation costs will be covered by your Membership, Social Club or Drop In fees.
WE ARE INVESTING IN YOU
FiftyNorth will invest in your club or group by paying for your space, booking your space, purchasing your basic supplies, managing your rosters, tracking participation, and promoting your activities.
When we run a club or group in our space, we are making a choice to invest in belonging— we are prioritizing connection over income, because we know how valuable this is to wellbeing.

2027 Membership Options
All memberships Include all fitness facilities and pools, most fitness classes and community programs, most events, lobby, popcorn, coffee, cards and clubs.
Special classes, trips and events are offered at an additional, reduced rate.
Any membership may be paused for $10 per month.
